When I worked out of the Carpenter Union in Baltimore someone was always selling a raffle ticket and being part of the Brotherhood I would purchase a ticket until one day I over heard this man telling how tickets sold at the job site were thrown down a sewer hole so that someone connected with the cause, say like some church, or lodge, would be the winner. That is when I stopped buying outside of something I belonged to. Some tickets back then, 1970s, stated "Members Only" were allowed to claim the prize.Glad to see someone win these raffles. I had two chances on a drawing last weekend in Cecil County. Over thirty of us bought tickets from work and no one won.
