Flying with AR parts

With everything going on in Annapolis today this is kinda a low priority but I was just curious if there was some obscure law/regulation (state/federal or otherwise) that could come up:

I'm going to visit my family in Georgia at the end of next month and if I can find some locally I want to pick up some 30 round PMAGS. I'll be flying into/out of ATL and BWI. Am I going to have any issues flying with new, still-in-packaging PMAGS?

I know you can fly with a firearm, but the magazines don't need to be declared (as I understand it) so I'm not overly concerned, I'll just toss them in my carry on in case they want to harass me and inspect the mags.

I know you can't buy 30 round mags in MD but is there some twisted interpretation that could get me in trouble flying back into the state with them?

Check them. People have had their optics taken from them at screening.

As was stated, throw them into a checked bag. I just bought a bunch of Black Dog 22 mags from PSA and checked them in my bag on US Airways. You don't have to declare parts, either, only firearms.

TSA prohibits firearms and firearms parts in carry on baggage. Checked bags is the only permissible way to do this.
