How much time goes in from start to finish?

about 15-20 hours, 8 of which are non stop forging.

I use 5160.

What are the dims on your 5160 stock? Are you forging that down from 1/4"?

thanks guys! I start with a piece 3/8" thick by 2.5" wide by 10 inches.
