Anybody own or shoot any of these rifles?

Seem pretty neat and can't beat the price but I've seen and read some of the lowers cracking.

I have one. While I will admit it has not seen nearly as much range time as my other rifles, I do like it. It would make an excellent backpacking/field rifle.

    PROS:
    - Has fed reliably from every AR-15 mag I own... aluminum, steel, plastic...
    - No FTF or FTE to date (~1500 rounds of both steel and brass cased)
    - Very light, and the folding stock makes it handy although it won't fold completely over anything besides GI pattern mags
    - Nice blend of AR bolt and AK style carrier/piston
    - Pretty accurate
    - Kel-Tec has excellent warranty repair and customer service

    CONS:
    - It feels, well, a bit like a toy. Lots of plastic, including the trigger. I'm pretty sure I could snap the folding stock by falling on it the wrong way.
    - Rear peep is nice but sights are not AR quality
    - Aluminum and steel mags will eventually start to chew up the magwell
    - Hand guards will heat up and melt if you run it pretty hard

I own one. I am the 3rd owner of the rifle and there is no cracking or wear issues. I will agree that being polymer it feels toyish, but for what you're getting for the price you just can't beat it. And the polymer factor is acceptable given the purpose of the rifles creation. I initially wanted an AR that I could convert to .22, but once I did some pricing, yeaaaaa no. I went with the su16c. People bash the durability aspect bc it's polymer, but what are you really going to do with your su16c? Go to Iraq?.. Prolly not. It will hold up just fine.
