So, I am going to be reloading for my 44 mag Henry carbine,, probably starting around the 1st of the year.
Figured I better order 1# of H-110 and some mag Large Pistol Primers before things get scarce.
What I was not taking into consideration was the shipping AND HazMat.

Is there any LGS that sell supplies - SOMD or Mid MD, as far north as AA county?

You should PM gungate. He had some ramshot enforcer (an ideal powder for 44 mag) posted in the barter thread. See if he still has it or if he would sell it for cash.

For myself, I use 2400 in my 44. In theory, h110 and enforcer can reach higher performance but in practice the 2400 has worked fine in testing. Just stuck with it.

You didn't ask this but, having much experience with the caliber, I feel I should give you some advice.

H110 cannot be reduced much and, even with the small reduction, it is a heavy load. I suggest that you buy some 4227 and Unique so that you can make lighter loads to practice with. It will be much more enjoyable in the long run.

    John,
    Thanks for the advice.
The reason I am loading is for deer hunting rounds for a 44m carbine.
I do have a few hundred commercial "medium" loads to start off setting the gun up and practicing. (I wont be hunting with this gun this year).
I am most likely going to be using the Swift A-Frame bullet (not cheap) and working up a 0-120 yard load. I do understand that the H-110 can not be down loaded much.
After I settle on a hunting load, I will find a cast bullet that mimics the trajectory of the A-Frame and load practice rounds.
If I have to change powder for the cast bullets to mimic the hunting loads,, I'll figure that out at that point.

I appreciate all the info, experience and wisdom from you and the rest of the group that has much more experience than me .

l'll echo John From MD on 4227 .

Max velocities are a hair under 2400 , but still potent . Very forgiving , good accuracy and consistency , and can be loaded down to " upper medium " .

On the same general theme , AA 9 is also more flexible than most of the stereotypical Magnum powders .

Looks like you have a plan. I used to use @ 10 gns of Unique to practice with. My hot load was 22 gns of H110 behind a 265 Ranch Dog hard lead bullet. No whitetail ever walked away from my 1892. ;)
