looking at the Sig Sauer Tango 1-6, Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 and the Primary Arms 1-6

Leaning more towards the Sig Sauer Tango, any real world comparisons or suggestions to share?

Any reason you are sticking with 1-6x Models? I have used the Vortex 1-6× and 1-8× and they are decent but heavy. The higher the pricetag, the better the glass, weight, and mechanical parts will be (usually.....). The ones listed are mid level optics and will do the job.

I have the strike eagle and it's a good entry level scope. Don't have experience with other two. I wish I knew about and saved up few more for the viper pst, check out that scope. I think it's well worth the price difference.

Looked at others on paper and in store but wound up with one of these and no complaints. Some have said the red reticle gets washed out in daylight but haven't seen this.

What are you looking at using it for? Wouldn't use it as a HD gun.

I have a PA SLx 1-6x ACSS on my 300Blk SBR. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit heavy. Otherwise, a very nice scope.

I have an SWFA 1-6X FFP that I like. I bought it used for about $600. It's in an AD Recon 1 piece mount. The FFP makes it a red circle at 1X and then it has a milling reticle at 6X. Pretty handy range and options. My only complaint is that the power ring is really stiff and it is a little heavy for it's size at 22oz.

Just bought a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8X for $299.00 It is the Optic Planets OPMOD color but considering I am seeing them for $4-500 for the most part could not pass it up.

I have the PA FFP 1x6 5.56 version and a PA 1x6 SFP for .300blackout. They both have very nice glass for the price point, lifetime warranties and the ACSS reticle system is the best one out there. You might want to consider the PA 1x8 FFP. gives you a bit more magnification, still very competitively priced, newer styling/features than the 1x6. https://www.primaryarms.com/slx-fir...pe-with-acss-raptor-556-reticle?order=inverse

    Good luck!

I am on the fence about getting a $300ish LPVO. I am also debating between the Sig, Vortex, and PA. My eyesight isn't that great. Also, would 6x versus 8x make that much of a difference for a midrange rifle like an AR15?

I bought a Vortex 1-6. There are a couple of options in that price range, but I like Vortex's warranty and customer support with several red dots that I own, so I stayed with them for my scope. I'm not a hunter, I just shoot paper for fun.

That is the joy of being a middling shooter... a cheaper, slightly heavier, maybe not quite as clear LVPO will still be FAR more accurate than the nut behind the trigger! I also like that the Strike Eagle has an etched reticle, which is easier for my eyes.

What about Leupold, specifically the Mark AR 1 1.5x4? Do you need the 6x or 8x?
I've got a 1-6 strike eagle in ffp and the mkar. Not being a "true" 1x is very annoying at close range. It would pretty much be essential to pickup a canted micro red dot to pair with it. The 1x on the strike eagle has a little fisheye, but is much more useful in close. The leupold has glass that is more clear and the firedot is very bright. The leupold is also very small/light weight. The vortex has some chromatic aberrations around the edges that the leupold glass doesn't have, but the glass on the vortex is still pretty good. I'll upload pictures comparing them here soon.

Have shot the Vortex, Sig, PA and Burris, IMO kinda comes down to personal preference, they are all decent, all around $300, and all have similar features and glass. I went with the Strike eagle for my budget builds, and own several, not that they are better than the other choices, but I have a couple local shops that have good deals on them, and I like keeping it consistent across rifles. Of course a couple bucks more gets you into a PST2 or GLX and they have quite noticeably better glass with a flatter 1X image and far less distortion at all magnifications.
