Mosin Nagant scope

Who here has installed a scope on their Mosin? What optic did you go with? What mods had to be made to get the rifle to operate properly?

Reason why I'm asking is that I want to attend an Apple Appleseed event or 3 and for hunting in the fall.

I used this mount with a Leatherman 2-7 LER scope for hunting pigs and it worked great. There is no mod or drilling when using this mount.

I used this cheek pad to raise the comb so I could center my eye better. It just sticks on and comes off with alcohol if you want to remove it.

I bought a sniper variant so all the work was already done for me. I think that's the easiest solution. You should think about that. It's a 4x scope and it's only going up in value so you're guaranteed a return on your investment.

Years ago, Nutnfancy from YouTube did a pretty extensive video on this using a BrassStacker mount IIRC and a scout scope that I forgot the name of.
Can't find the video now.

I used a long eye relief scope on mine. Pop the rear sight off and use that small rail for the mount (no gunsmithing required). I forget the brand, it’s nothing special, but it does what I need it to. And yes, it hold up with the recoil ok.
