They trash the parks because they have no "equity" in the game. They work here, send their money home and avoid taxes by working for cash as much as they can.

One of the worst things Maryland did was in 2004 they merged the LEO Park Rangers into the NRP. The only officers (if their are any left) in the Park Service are those who are grandfathered. NRP's mission has nothing to do with policing parks and they are under staffed and have been for at least 15 years.:sad20:

" Every State Park and water access spot overrun with illegals"

This would have been a more appropriate title.

I got a boat. Now I can ride up river away from the crowds, find my own island and do what I want in peace.

The VA side of the upper Potomac has put up signs reading "You may only use this area if you are fishing or hunting". It didn't work. Every nice weekend or holiday the place is overrun with people leaving dirty diapers, empty Corona bottles, and chicken bones EVERYWHERE. Just absolutely trashy people who have absolutely no respect for the outdoors or other people.

One poor boater one day got boxed in with people double parking and parked on his bumper. There was no way he could have gotten out by himself. A buddy and I had to lift his trailer up while he backed up a bit in order to pull out. The people had no respect for anyone else but themselves.

Not just National or State parks...

AACo has had large numbers at multiple parks, particularly Fort Smallwood.

Having it as a daily fee park isn't an impedance, and groups take up large areas with hammocks and whatever tent-like things they can get away with.

But it's not just 'outlanders'. One park in particular was regularly overrun by DC-VA area visitors who would load up and take over the beach, because it wasn't a daily-fee park. It has since been upgraded, and we'll see whether the new gate fee will have an effect on out-of-county traffic.

Point Lookout State Park is no better. We arrived one morning and set up on one of the picnic tables. Took a walk and when we came back all our stuff was tossed on the ground. So, I took their stuff and tossed into the garbage can. About 20 of them gathered around my wife and me. We had already called the Ranger and they were slow to get there. They ended up getting kicked out and that was the last time we went.
