I'm thinking of getting a Rugar 10/22 for plinking. I am also contemplating buying 2 for target tree speed competitions in the backyard. Does anyone have a recommendation on a reasonable red dot sight?

It all depends on your eyes. I would suggest you go to a gun shop and see if a red dot sight looks clear or fuzzy to you. There are dot sights that will work for people with astigmatism but usually the 2 MOA red dots don't. Checking them out before you buy can save a lot of frustration.

My astigmatism gives dots a starfish or irregular shape...that being said..reflex sights work with astigmatism. Anyone have recommendations for reflex sights under $250?
You can probably find this cheaper than MSRP.

These micro prism sights work great for people with astigmatism as they are not red dots and they are also etched so they work when powered or not.

I have and use several holosun (407k, 407c, 407a, and 507c) on various tools and they all work well for me. Durable, reliable, dependable, and annual battery changes are easy without having to remove/uninstall.

Looking at a holosun SCS and HE509T-RD and I think I’ll order them.

Sig Romeo 5’s work just fine for me. Even have one on my M11/9…

Good powder for 12ga trap loads , and light handgun loads .
All I used to use for doves, quail and target loads. 19.5 with a white AA, IIRC. .38 Spcl, HBWC backwards, 2.5 gr...used to be a lot of fun for close range varmints and small game from my scoped Contender.

I have a Holosun 407k green 6 MOA dot and like it fine for a range toy. I think I see the green easier/better than red, although my red dots have all been smallish, 2-4 moa. For defensive use, I am just so ingrained with iron sights, I'm sticking with them.
