So I recently have seen red dots on pistols so it got me thinking about getting a red dot for my wifes pistol. Are the pistol bracket adapters ok? or is it better to get it machined and drill and tapped for a red dot? Vortex has an adapter but I dont know which would be best. I dont really care if the slide has to be milled down.

What is your wife's pistol? Need to know that first. If you already have some kind of red dot use that as long as it is suitable for the caliber. Try to mount it on some kind of rail because she may not like your choice of red dot and you want to be able to use something else if required.
