Any idea of the age of this?
Sides of the gun say Remington Arms Co.
Top of the barrel says Remington Arms Co Ilion NY
Receiver has mark of 33610, underside of the barrel has the same number.

From the double gun shop forum I find:
"If the gun is marked Remington Arms Co. it is from 1908 to 1910. If it is marked Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. it is 1911 into 1916. Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co., Inc. 1916 into 1920. Remington Arms Co., Inc. 1920 on."

    Does anyone have better information?
    Thank you for any help.

See ATTACHED as well as link; perhaps a Model 1899 mfr’ed in 1890?

Photos of Numbers and stamps on UNDERSIDE of bbls should reveal more …

Here is a link to the 1889 page
; however; the serial # blocks contradict what the link above show (which is usual, Remington serical #’s can be a hot mess; the best records were by an author who used shipping records to put together a better reference than Remington ever did (that more n likely NEVER woulda happened in a German or other European Mfr)

The late Charles Semmer wrote the book Remington Double Shotguns. While no production records have been found for these guns, he constructed a serial number chronology from surviving shipping records

Interesting! Thank you. I am guessing this is a twist barrel shotgun from the look of the barrels.

More n likely … you’re probably already aware that firing modern ammo through Damascus barrels can lead to disastrous results*

I’m hoping any addl stamps you can get photos of (ie - undersides of bbls) may identify any particular grade … (see second attached screenshot)

    * - No one can tell you over the internet what ammunition may be safe in a given gun. That requires hands on examination by a qualified double gun smith with the proper tools and gauges.

Were I you I would waste no time getting in touch with renowned double gunsmith, Mr William Graham, Nice Old Double GunWorks:

Here is an example of what Mr. Graham does with the old Remington double guns (I am STILL kicking myself for letting this one slip right through my fingers!)

By chance is that the gentleman that has a booth at the MACA show?
