I'm pretty sure MD has state preeminence on type of firearm and where to carry. Why isn't MD AG stepping in if the town is passing an illegal law?

The local code (§33-2. Discharge of Firearm or Weapon; Carrying of Loaded Weapon.) was passed into law 14APR1982, per the Town Code. Therefore, preemption does not apply.

I could see this working out very badly for us in the short run. Even if town leaders were so inclined to change the law willingly, they'll never do it under threat of a lawsuit by a big, outside organization.

To the legal eagles: if SAF does sue, does the town handle the suit or does the state?
