This is my first season with the crossbow and I've decided to try my luck out of a ground blind, as I'm going to take my son out with me. The blind I have comes with velcro mesh inserts for the windows and it's obvious they offer concealment advantage if in place. They say you can shoot through the mesh, but for some reason it's making me nervous. Should I be? I'm shooting an Excalibut Vortex (200 lbs.) with a conventional 3-blade "bolt-cutter". Will the mesh alter trajectory or slow the bolt down to any appreciable degree?

    Practice the way you hunt

Many years ago I missed a nice buck at 15 yards when my release went off too soon because it was cold that morning and I put on gloves that I had not practiced with.....duuuh.....regardless of what the manual says try several shots through the mesh screen to make sure, that beats saying later "Oh shuckey dern I wish I had........"

    Good Luck Barry

I've had several friends shoot through their mesh with no problem. Some with crossbows and some with compunds. They all shot fixed blade broadheads and didn't have a problem.

All they said was to make sure the mesh was fully secured and taught so the arrow doesn't have to "push" it's way through.

    Good luck!!!

My blind has the shoot trought mesh, however I will not do it
    1) i use the spitfire mechanical B.H. and the mesh will open the blades
    2) it rips the netting I use the netting to help conceal me and have the windows open to let air flow in the blind.

Magnus stingers and hornady turkey loads have both scored thru the mesh. Not an issue for me.

i have an open ground blind...I just wear darker clothes in the upper part that is visble...and leave the blind open so the deer got used to it. I wouldnt risk shooting through netting...

My son asked if he could shoot through the mesh in my Primos blind.

    "Are you nuts!?!?!?!!? No!"

I'm not putting any holes in the mesh, in my ground blind!!

Have you seen the price of the replacement screens???????
(Darned near as expensive as the whole blind!!)

I mean I would be kinda weary about shooting through it, I'd be nervous about missing a deer
