I am curious about this new offering from Ruger (although would probably buy a custom rifle from you if I were in the market). The following is from a promotional email I received from Ruger. Do you believe this rifle to be Maryland compliant? It does not seem to have a heavy profile barrel.

    http://www.ruger.com/products/ar556/index.html

"Now available in a state compliant model that is legal for sale in the following, otherwise restricted locations: Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Puerto Rico."

What about the Ruger SR556, is this rifle legal to own in Maryland. Are there any bushmaster rifles legal to own in Maryland and is the Rock River LAR-15 AR15 ok to buy in this state.

"Ruger SR 556 E State Compliant Model 5915" banned for reason "Copy of the Colt AR15" What about AR-556? Of course (1) Ruger does not mention BAR, and (2) that State Compliant AR-556 has a one size fits all restrictions from several states rolled into one rifle. :sad20:

Well - appreciate the effort anyways Ruger.

[EDIT] Wait a minute - the SR 556 has a piston driven action - not gas impingement; how is that an AR 15 copy? Oh never mind!! Stupid law anyways!!!

What is the difference between this and the SR 556?

You would have to do it out of state, then you would have a Franken-Ruger. Why not just start with a generic lower and build your own?
