Since the new CCW law has been in place, was curious if any new data is available to show CCW holders being charged or cited for wrongful location carry, or commitment of a crime while carrying.
Also, anything on changes in stats regarding legal guns stolen. Especially since some of the restrictive locations require CCW holders to store their weapon in there vehicle.
    Data sources?

If there any instances of a CCW holder charged in a crime it would be plastered all over the media ”proving” SCOTUS went rogue with the Bruen decision.
Apparently that jackwagon Timothy Davis in Taneytown had a carry permit when he assaulted that couple in the parking lot of Kenny’s Market last summer (thought they were taking pics and making fun of him and drew his pistol and pointed it at her head point blank - all while being filmed doing it).

That should register as one incident to date. Haven’t heard of any others tbh.

Note that 28 (or 29) states with Constitutional Carry remain silent.

WV, VA, DE, and PA have allowed OPEN CARRY for several hundred years- also, no issues reported.

There have been OC "issues" in Philly/Dover, DE in the past.

Several years back Dover PD nixed the enforcement. Not sure if they could bring it back the CCDW req for OC. They were also issuing letters that gave OC approval at one point in time as well, but I think they stopped that too.

Philly will say FU to OC if you don't have a PA permit. You also need a PA permit to OC in a vehicle.

That's actually in State Law ..As a * City of the First Class * (and the only one , and only possible one ) , Philadelphia is exempted from parts of Preemption . So no permitless OC is within their legitimate pervue .

Requiring extra hoops for their residents to get LTC isn't , but State AG's won't call them on it .

The other named states do have long histories of OC , but ironically to our current perceptions , not West Virginia . West Virginia spent about 100 yrs prohibiting Open or Concealed Carry for regular citizens , at least on paper .

Went back to the Mine Wars Era , of major pitched battles , and fighting Actual Communists in addition to mainstream Unions .

For most of the long time period , in most of the state it was mostly enforced against striking miners or Union Organizers . Most of the time ignored for regular everyday , non- political Ridge Runners .

It was only in late 1990's did they start coming around 10 years late to the Shall Issue trend . First for Residents only with no reciprosity , they reciprosity only for Permits from neighboring states . ( But they did accept Non Res Permits from Neighboring States , which is why ai got my Va Non Res in that era .)

After seeing that the sky didn't fall down , and blood didn't run in the streets , The WV Legislature ( with pushes from WVCDL) saw the light , and started down the path to Major League 2A Bastion that we know today .

As it has been stated in the fight to keep our right to carry, the percent of those who have and do follow the laws while carrying is incredibly low. When explaining this to others, I like to bring up this kinda of data. It's like they cannot believe that the vast majority of CCW holders, like them or not follow the required rules.

Low percentage of those carrying are following the law?

So you're including the gangbangers and citizens who carry without State permission?

CCW holders is what I was referring to.
The information regarding just HQL holders who are carrying and are charged with illegal carry is another data set, but worth seeing the numbers.
Gangbangers info would be of interest to see how many registered guns confiscated were lost/stolen.
