Has anyone successfully filed for a training exemption for DC’s concealed carry application under 2336.3?

“The Chief may, on a case by case basis, exempt a person from the requirements of §§ 2336.1 and 2336.2 if the person submits evidence that he or she has received firearms training in the U.S. military or has otherwise completed firearms training conducted by a firearms instructor that, as determined by the Chief, is equal to or greater than that required by the Act.”

I have CCW permits in DE, PA, UT, NJ, and MD.

•Delaware resident license (8 hours of training with range qualification)
    •Utah (additional 4 hours)
•Maryland (additional 8 hours, 16 total needed, with range qualification)
•New Jersey (additional 4 hours with range qualification)

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but I’ve taken over 24 hours of classes for 5 different states with 3 different range qualifications. So ridiculous. Imagine if they made driving this difficult.

The answer is yes but not any more. They used to allow conversion of the MD 16 hour class with a 4 hour dc law adder. They did not allow me to do it a month or so ago. But they did accept my nra instructor cert.

see my thread in this section about dc permit update.

So they will accept NRA instructor?

I understand I would still need the DC law class. I had really never thought about getting a DC permit
