duracoat/cerakote? not sure which one. its not spray paint.
i picked up an upper in desert tan that i want to remove the finish (its beat up/ugly).
I've tried mineral spirits and a brass scrubber with minimal success.
do i need to go to a chemical stripper? bead blasting? grinder? blow torch?:innocent0
    anyone with experience on this?
    thanks.

I'm thinking blasting with media, e.g. aluminum oxide. You're going to re-coat with something else that you like I hope?

I have cerakoted several items, they require bead blasting before coating to get the desired matte finish on gun parts and I have bead blasted a botched job and recoated it more than once. It works.. ;) Find someone with a blast cabinet and 100-120grit aluminum oxide media.
