Finally back into deer hunting at the end of this year! I'll be out strictly for the rifle season and tent camping from the minivan unless a jeep or 4Runner miraculously shows up in the driveway :innocent0. I'm reading up on the WV laws and hoping they come out with the 2016-2017 dates soon so I can decide on exact days.

In the mean time I'm planning 2 or 3 overnight or weekend trips to scout some areas. I'd like to stay about 4 hours from the west side of the Baltimore beltway. Can anyone recommend WMA's that won't be overrun with humans by the time the rifle season starts?

Thanks, that's one of the areas I was looking at. It looks deep and there are a number of hiking trails running through, lots of water and some nice draws. I don't mind walking a bit and dragging out so I figured I might be able to get a little beyond the 1/2 mile camp/hunt/road radius. I've been offered 2 separate private properties from friends this year though so I may not have to go there at all.
