I think this is a cool AK-47 although the folding stock doesn't leave much to rest your cheek on... but it does offer lovely fireballs at night!!!

It is built from a numbers matching unfired AMD parts kit on a Nodak Spud receiver by Overland Industries. The build was only $300.

Scuffed up grey plastic grips came with the parts kit, so I puchased wood grips and had them refinished in Russian Red when Overland Industries built the kit onto the Nodak Spud receiver for me.

Overland Industries is local if you happen to be in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Check out their website. If I had known more about a local builder like Mid County Gunshop, I might have given them a try, but Overland did an oustanding job. Gary the owner and rifle builder did a meticulous job as if he were building it for himself. There are not too many craftsmen out there that put that much effort in their work anymore, so I couldn't be more pleased.

That's gorgeous! What is the name of the stain color you used? I may want to try it on something, so any help would be appreciated. Looks very good and classy, not all assaulty and baddy.

The stain color is Russian Red, and it was the builder's own mixture. It looks so much better that the clear coated ash grips that actually came on the AMDs.
