    Details

As the title says a Tisas SDS 1911 model U.S.Army. This pistol has been shot, fully tuned and improved.

The mainspring housing has been altered to flat form. Both the mainspring housing and front strap have been stippled and Oxpho-Blu’d. The grip safety has been replaced, shortened and upswept for a higher more proficient hold. It is actually a takeoff from another pistol because there is a little more metal on TOP of the grip safety spur. This further reduces likelihood of hammer bite. Wide spur hammer has been bobbed to prevent hammer bite. A complete trigger job has been done and the trigger has a smooth roll to it since it is combat type arm. Pull weight is 4.25 pounds.

Front sight was round and smooth. It has been cut forward and undercut for better sight picture. The under cut can be seen in the left side profile picture.

The extractor has been tuned, firing pin stop has been beveled to smooth recoil impulse. The barrel stood on the factory link so I measured and selected a proper link to get it higher - a technique Cylinder & Slide advertises for one of their pistol improvement packages. The link is not so long it puts undue pressure up on the slide (through the barrel) and downward on the slide stop during cycling. A match bushing has been fitted, not bullseye tight but just about finger tight, a bushing wrench helps.

A set of more attractive wood grips installed along with stainless grip screw bushings. There is a quick write up on it in the Handguns forum.

A composite target ranging from 7 to 25 yards shows its accuracy potential. Ammo was scarce at time, more so than now, the pictured target was shot. It has been shot occasionally, mostly with factory 230 grain ball ammo. Its performance is still consistent. It is nibble and svelte in the hand when shooting it. I used this pistol in the AGC WWII C&R match. I still shoot it and will until a buyer commits. So why am I selling a sound pistol I actually like?. Well another project has been acquired and I am doing a resource shift. This pistol is actually lighter and a bit more nibble than the Springfield Mil-Spec which is replacing it. I may experience seller's remorse on this one.

This pistol has about 350-400 rounds through it. It is accurate and has been reliable with good magazines.
