So, I’ve been browsing the Kalika Optics Warehouse site, I’ve noticed that there’s quite a few Eastern optics around. My question is if anyone here has a make and model they’d recommend for a “classic” AK-74. The AK in question features a Warsaw Pact dovetail rail, so that’s how I’ll be looking to mount. Unfortunately, I’m just not familiar with these systems and more than that, I was curious if anyone had a recommendation for something that both looks “authentic” and is actually useful as an optic. I’m willing to consider all options, though a red dot or other tactical-type optic probably makes the most sense for a 74.
Now let me add one condition: I’d like an optic that matches the “battlefield pickup” aesthetics of the rifle. Yes, Ultimak rails and Aimpoint Microdots are wonderful, but I’m looking for the sort of thing that’s more in line with post-Warsaw Pact Eastern Europe.
