I have a SA TRP. It chews thru any ammo I give to it, and it runs with the factory mags as well as the 8rd Wilson mags.

I've never shot a kimber, but have many other 1911's. If you are going to be at the shoot, you can run a few mags thru mine. It has a few more bells and whistles than the loaded. I wouldn't trade it in for anything.

Its the most accurate pistol I have shot and I'm not a good shot. :D

I agree with you that everyone should own a 1911.....BUT, not wanting to cause a S%&T-storm (OK, maybe I do..;)), there should be a LAW that states "no pistol can be considered a "1911" if it is chambered in anything other than .45acp..........:D

Flame suit on - with glee

    SA Loaded 9mm x2
    Caspian Custom 9mm
    Wilson CQB
    Para P13
    Kimber Custom

All very good. A 1911 is something each of us should have. They can be a little finicky at times. All of mine run good, but have seen quite a few go belly up in IDPA matches.

I picked up a Kimber Pro Carry II back in 02 and love it. It will never leave my arsenal. Very accurate, lightweight and a gem to carry. Only issue I've ever had with it was the factory Kimber mag (in the picture). Wouldn't feed well even with a new spring. Went to Wilson Combat 47D mags and havent used anything else since.

Additions I've added are an arched main spring housing and a front checkered strap. Other than that, its my #1 1911.

Picture shows the rubber wrap around grip but I've since gotten rid of that before I put the checkered front strap on.

OK, Sounds like a need for a group buy!!! Who has an FFL and willing to help out?

I'm in the market for a 1911. I think I might go with the RIA. If a tax refund comes through it might happen sooner!

I couldn't agrre more. That's why I have a wilson CQB, the kimber, the P13 and i forgot to mention the little para CCW .45 LDA that i carry.

As far as the 9 millies go - it's hard to argue with the 1911 9mm in IDPA. 1.5 second 2x body 1x head from a draw. The speed you can shoot one accurately is amazing. I'm getting there with my M&P slowly:sad20:

Hope you are sweating in your flame suit...:D

Yeah- I was expecting a little more heat on the subject. I'm glad most agree.

putting a nazi round in a JMB design is somewhat sacrilegious... but then again, I like guns... all of them, from the historic to the bizarre.

Yeah, but it works. and works well. i've got about 10,000 rounds through mine.

BTW - did JMB fall and hit his head with his last design? The HP35 or the BROWNING Hi-Power. The man did it himself. Can't be all bad.

PS - the 9 millie predates National Socialism.

I had a Hi Power, and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Terrible muzzle flip, a lame safety and slide stop design, and mediocre accuracy. I think Browning did in fact take a blow to the head before developing the Hi Power.

    I'll stick to my 1911s.

I think 22SAS, Novak, & Laughridge may disagree. I'm not in that august company, but mine runs very well. Remember I have 6+ 1911s and only 1 HP.:party29:
