Got back from Florida later than expected but finally got to go pick up my K31 and thought I’d share some pics.

Based on the serial number it was manufactured at W-F in 1943. All numbers matching with an excellent bore.

It came with brass muzzle cap, sling, bayonet and the scabbard. The bayonet isn’t in the best shape and the scabbard is an original, unissued.

I even found a surplus stripper clip for it.

    Overall very happy with it.

I appreciate all your guys input when I was researching them and trying to decide what I wanted.

Once again, the background check was delayed for a couple hours. This has been happening about 70% of the time and I have no idea why. My SSBI was >4 years ago and I have a C&R and a collectors license. Just a PIA.

    Thanks for the kind words.
I have not pulled the butt plate. The screws are pristine and it doesn’t look like it’s been off in ages. I’m tempted to leave it alone and just not know if there is one under there. Lol

Thanks - I believe I will leave well enough alone. I am afraid I would strip it out or that it would never fit the same again. IMHO, not knowing if anything is under there is kinda cool.

If you ever change your mind, I'm here for moral support! ;)

    (mine did have a tag)

The K31 is a has a pleasant and firm recoil when sending rounds down range. More than adequate sights, and it is very accurate. I am taking on of mine out next week to the AGC, still have a crate of GP11...

My first milsurp was a k31, and it did not disappoint. I also grabbed a k11 as well. It seems like GP11 supply has long since dried up, but PPU still sells commercial ammo for it, and it uses .308" projectiles if you ever get into reloading for it, although original GP11 has a pretty tapered bullet geometry, so some research would be needed to see what projectiles work best for them.

Congrats on a nice example of a classic battle rifle! And a straight-pull to boot. Nothing quite like 'em. IMHO nearly on the same level as the Swedish Mauser when it comes to accuracy, esp. when using Ruag ammo. And the Swiss are second to none when it comes to build quality. The K31 has a very solid, vault-like feel to it.
