yayyyy, get to go work there again tomorrow. I'm fairly sure they just need to pave over the bus stop and stop bringing city trash to the mall and lots of these problems would go away.

It was only a matter of time.

And when the casino finally opens ... what then ?

Not the first shooting at that mall. Won't be the last either. Anybody remember the shooting/stabbing at the Loft across the street on New Years. What about the spree of street robberies a few years ago that lead to more cameras in the parking lot.

With the casino coming that mall needs a major overhaul on security. Paul Blart and one or two off duty cops is not gonna cut it when you have all the trash from Baltimore, DC, and PG Co coming off 295 added in with the trash that's already there.

I avoid that mall at all cost. Drive the extra distance to Annapolis (not much better these days) or Columbia.

From the lead I have got 2 people have been fatally shot at Arundel Mills Mall. All I have at this time

The only reason I go there is for Bass Pro... and not often, at that.

Otherwise, I would never set foot near the place.

The ass-raping the neighborhoods and previous property owners took to put that monstrosity in was, well, monstrous.

There are still back-office plans to develop more adjacent property that was obtained through shell companies.

It's all about bolstering the county tax revenues, IMO, and the public be damned...

    ... or killed.

Yikes. I only go there early in the day, and only to bass pro. Even then I'm still not wild about going.

Remember the shooting in the Annapolis food court? Took a secret service agent IIRC to stop it.

As Ken said, it was only a matter of time. Anybody in the county police (or recently retired from them :innocent0) would tell you the same thing. I don't want to see what it's like after the casino opens, which is going to be the equivalent of saturating the waters with chum and waiting for the Baltimore area street sharks to show up. John Leoturd's done nothing to reinforce police presence at this gigantic mall, before or after the slots award, other than move a few special units to have their offices inside the mall instead of elsewhere. The county police have been so gutted by vacancies thanks to Leoturd cutting positions and making it a generally "last choice" department for new applicants, that they can barely get close to filling the minimum staffing posts they have just to work the road countywide. And the only way they can do that is by robbing Peter to pay Paul by ordering people who are already exhausted to work more mandatory overtime.

Meanwhile, Leoturd rides around high and mighty and telling people what a great job he's doing keeping them safe (and under Grand Jury investigation thanks to all his "alleged" hijinks) with his 3-4 detectives assigned to be his servants on the county citizens' tax dollars. Detectives that are greatly needed elsewhere for real policework. What a load of ********.

Sorry for the rant, just tired of watching this stuff go on.
