They are advertising them for 59.95 for hardwood M-44's. Only catch is you have to join akforum.net to be eligible (free). I have not dealt with Ohio Rapid Fire before and although what I've heard is good I make no representations for him. I'm just passing the info along.

That's a screaming deal. The Armory has some M44s for $149 and I thought that was a reasonable price!

Actually, there's really no such thing as the much-maligned "internet gun purchase", much to the chagrin of the anti-gun hysteria brigade. You can use the internet to search and browse dealers, and even place orders for firearms, but the transaction must follow the same laws and procedures as purchasing any firearm via any other means. Take that, Chuck. :kissass:

To ship a firearm to you, the dealer must send the item to a licensed Federal Firearms License holder. The FFL holder receives the firearm, and releases it to you only after you pass the Federal NICS check (and any additional state requirements, in the case of regulated firearms.) You need to find an FFL first and verify that they'll handle the transaction for you; the fee can run anywhere from $20 to $60 or more.)

There's also a Federal Curio & Relics collector's license, which gives you the ability to purchase older firearms that are designated C&R eligible, directly from distributors. The M44 is a C&R eligible firearm. You have to pass a BATF background check, agree to keep a bound transaction log, make your collection available for inspection upon request, etc. The license is $30 for 3 years, and typically takes 3-8 weeks to obtain.

Also, Century has a deal going, "3 M44's in good condition with cracked stock", for $147. That's $49 each, and I believe shipping is $12.95 for anything up to $500.
