I’m vegan, armchair politician, lawyer and philosopher.

Get your smoker ready and take me out quickly.

Retired Electrical Engineer, worked as a mechanic, worked construction, worked at pretty much everything. Only thing I'm not good at is gardening. If there was ever a person that was born with a brown thumb, it was me. My brother got all the gardening skills (my wife is OK at it too). Got about a 100yrd clear fire zone around the house, so should be able to hold out for a while.

Like the T-Shirt says, I may be old, but I know things, and I fix stuff. I will have some value after the fall, assuming I make it through the collapse.

    You are better than McGuyver.
I have a Swiss Army Knife, new, still in original packaging. If the world comes to an end, I'll just break out that bad boy and everything will be fine...

Yup, you’ll need a lot of Salt and Hot Sauce to make McGuyver taste good, but after years of eating Dunkin’ Donuts, TacoBell, Craft Beer and Single Batch Bourbon, my flesh will taste like Special Waygu. Promise to save me for that special feast.

Tavern owners and Prostitutes, that's where the trading is done. Meds. ammo, fuel and food will be the currency. I've seen it firsthand in war torn areas. May it never happen here.

I want to be a dentist.
On a humanitarian medical mission to Nicaragua, the dentist taught us how to pull teeth. Figured that in a combat situation (translates to SHTF scenario also) us medical folks may need to know how

Grab yourself a copy of "where there is no doctor" and "where there is no dentist" I believe they are published by Hesperian.

*****Those are actually very useful books. Might be an opportunity for an author to write a book called "When there is no woman, or Pornhub" in case someone needs to do some hands on work after the grid goes down... :innocent0

You can grab those, and so many other similar books online for free as PDFs. The various military manuals are full of great info, on many different topics. Parts diagrams and lists for all your firearms, or any others as well. Print out what you want, put them on a tablet for easy reading, and keep a few USB sticks full as backups.

I may or may not have spent the equivalent of several 40hr work weeks over a period of several years gathering what could plausibly be the single largest collection of such materials in private hands.

I readily acknowledge that having them accessible now is not the same as having them accessible in a teotwawki situation.

Nor is merely having them accessible in a teotwawki situation the same as being able to utilize them.

Having an old cellphone with the data stored on both the hdd and an external sd card kept in a small faraday box stored in the safe is not a bad idea...though my particular collection is now into the TB's so it's a bit more cumbersome.
