The way the ignore feature works is that another persons posts are hidden from you. So if I have “Bob69” on ignore, I can’t see his posts without clicking an unhide button.

I think a useful alternative feature would be the reverse of that, to make it so Bob69 can’t see my posts. I think that would encourage more civility in the forum. People might be more civil in their responses if they know they are at risk for losing access to your posts.

Just throwing this out there for the mods to consider if they haven’t already.
The Fora Platform maybe works like that. Facebook and Twitter do.

    Pole fail!

Was trying to work up something about the 12 days of Christmas what MDS gave (not directly but via the forum to inspire) to me/or someone in the group:
The joy to gift generously (Blessing Bundles)
The need to sell my 40
    Indigestion from tomoto pie-eeee
Loose sphincter thanks to Doc T-eeee
    A divor-ci-eeee
    xx Hot redheads
    xx C&R's
    xx AR's
    xx Hunter whores
    xx Ignores
And a ban from the hammer-ee

    Etc...

I may get back to this later.
But this reminds me of another pole that's been fermenting...
    :D

True, I can still see when people reply to my posts. So obviously I am going to see what they said which defeats the ignore feature. You should just not be able to see anything they post and vice versa.

So, if you ignore me, I will never be able to see your threads or posts. Is that how it will work?

Yes, so all trace of member who force ignore would be gone, past and present.

Members that are simply MIA would still have past activity that is visible.

I'd like to be able to see how many people have me on Ignore.

...and ultimately turn the forum into an echo chamber.

"I don't want(to see) anyone disagreeing with me, so I'll put myself on half the board's ignore list..."?

    It makes no sense.
too late its not the biggest but it is growing.
