I would be concerned about over inserting that mec gar mag and damaging the extractor in your 1911.

I used these in my tisas for a galactic match last month.

Looked to be the shortest and slimmest of the good mags. They lock back. Make sure you get the "plus" version if you carry an alloy frame. The normal power mag will damage those.

Tripp Research mags are well made and very reliable. Not really any cheaper than WC, but a quality alternative.

yea at this point its gonna take a while to get 4-5 10 rounders, but gotta pay to play so they say. I do love this platform lol. Plus when I visit my parents at least it's legal to have fully loaded (RI and their mag cap bans)

Now I did order this, until this thread I didnt even think of replacing the guts of the magazine. My kimber mag is just weak and wont lock back, this should fix that and bam! 10rd mag for $8

WC spring kit came in, man that kimber spring was worn out, it was half the size! no wonder it didnt work well. Cycled through and locked back on snapcaps, now i need some time to take it to the range, just need to get 3-4 more for competitions. But hey, $8 sure as hell beats $50 for a 10 rd mag

I have a few 32 round 9mm (Colt) Promags I use in my 9mm SBR. Never had a problem with them, though their reputation has always been 'hit or miss'.

I thought that’s what the ones I ordered a few “testers” of via CDNN and which, after some live-fire t&e in our Colt AR-9, impressed us so much we wound up ordering dozens more but, turns out they are Dura-Mags (slicker’n snot!)

I do remember buying a bunch of Korean made 30 round AR mags from that site for around 10 bucks a pop. They turned out to be almost complete garbage. After replacing the followers(the biggest problem with them) and and the aluminum floor plates with real steel ones, the mags actually work now, but remain only range worthy.

I was looking at a couple Pro Mag magazines at a Bass Pro last year.
The salesman told me that that was all that he had for my pistol. He added that he gets most of them returned.

Wilson Combat or Tripp Research are the way to go for 1911 .45 magazines.
If you're looking for magazines for competition stick to 8 round magazines.

I've never had them work in my 1911s but YMMV.

Wilson combat mags for me, though I'm sure there are other good ones.
