    An interesting point regarding the Beretta Nano that may be of interest to RSO’s and others.

    Someone was shooting a Beretta Nano the other day, and they were unable to get the slide to lock back manually. (Required to be unloaded and action/slide open when on bench.) With a little research (operator manual on internet), I found that the Nano only has an internal slide lock - no external means to manually lock slide back/open.

    The steps to manually lock the slide back/open on a Nano are:

    1) Insert an empty mag
    2) Pull the slide back, so it locks open
    3) Remove the mag

    This is the only way to manually lock the slide back.

    (The slide has to be racked to release the slide, because of not having an external slide latch/release.)

    There may be other pistols that function like this; however, this was the first one that I have come across that did not have an external slide latch/release.
