Okay, I know I've seen these somewhere on line, but now I can't find them anywhere.

Just adopted an Iver Johnson Safety Hamerless (2nd model in 38 s&w), these were not built for the higher pressures of "modern smokeless powder rounds", and I don't reload. So......anybody know of anyplace cattering to "cowboy shooting", or the such, that carries black powder rounds?

Depending on when your second generation IJ was made, it may be able to take smokless. If it is an antique, then it was before they made second generation that can shoot smokeless from what I vageuly recall.

The BP substitute .38 ammo is not cheap, but then again no .38 S&W ammo is cheap nowadays.

For the price of two boxes you can buy the simplest Lee reloader, the bullets, a box of primers and a pound of powder. If you want to keep shooting for fun, then I suggest you buy a box of the expensive ammo and reuse the brass over and over.
