I have an event to attend in Baltimore one weekend soon. It was advertised on bookoffaces and is a Jewish event. Thanks to recent events I do not wish to go without protection but also don't want to risk issues. SDAT doesn't show property owner. Google shows it as a Baltimore City public school, a church and a dance academy. Any recommendations for how to confirm property? The event is at the church rec hall.

    335 W 27th St, Baltimore, MD 21211

I am tempted to just not go but they have asked me several times if I will attend.

Baltimore City is used to having handguns in public schools.

I think you'll fit right in.

Just don't wear a sign advertising that you're carrying.

Most say "Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it."
Baltimore version: "Better to be caught with it than without it."

That does not look like a BCPS to me.

It looks like a former church and hall.

If I went, it would be deep concealment.

I did a Google tour around the block.

If I went there with my wife, she would insist that I keep driving and not park the car.

Even during the day while armed.

But, that's just her. Kinda.... :D

Ironically the address says it's Church of the Guardian Angel.

Baltimore residents might want to consider the latest fashion trend:

    Just curious.

Is it some kind of interfaith outreach or soup kitchen work?

    If so, many Blessings.

    Otherwise, I'd just send a gift/money.
A friends daughter rented the facility for an event. Glad to hear not BCPS. I will probably be the only non liberal there so cmc will rule the day.

I'm not familiar with that neighborhood, so I dug into my old friend , ( second hand ) UCR .

    What I quickly found :

Duhh , everywhere in Baltimore is above national averages . More relevant at hand is how Remington neighborhood compares to Baktimore City as a whole. Results are mixed:

    Burglary 181% of citywide
    Robbery 120% of citywide
    Theft. 94 % of citywide
Aggravated Assault 35 % of citywide

Zero murder in the recent reporting year .

Since burglary isn't very relevant for day visitors, you could probably think of it as "Baltimore Medium " .

The % of White residents is almost double of citywide . Primarily descendants of Appalachian Migrants moved from the coal fields for industrial jobs back in the day. With the de industrialization of Baltimore in the '80s , the 'hood hit hard times . The usual boosters call it " up & coming " with modest influx of hipsters, yuppies , and nightlife .

If no one notices, you’ll be a hit in this.

If they do, claim ignorance! :innocent0

If you search on the Maryland Dept. Of Assessments and Taxation website you can plug in an address and it will give you the titled owner.

    MD DEPT ASSESSMENTS & TAXATION

In this case, there is no listing for a 335 W. 27th St. Perhaps that address is a subtenant or "sub address" of the main building. There is a 335 E. 27th St. but that wouldn't do you any good. But my thought is to try to identify the owner to ascertain whether it is a city owned building or what.

In this instance, go to the Church's website , and there are multiple structures are on the same lot , but each structure has a different address on different street .

Heck , this morning getting some documents from ( blah blah ) County Tax office , the supposed " address " of one of the parcels of the Biggfoot Estate is listed differently on Tax computer , paper Tax Statements, and Deed .
