Calling that ordinary metal is like calling money just paper. Somethings are worth more than the raw materials they are made out of.(Yes out money will be worth the paper it's printed on eventually, seperate point)

Up until 1986 that piece of metal would have cost perhaps $20 more than any other AK clone receiver. After the Hughes Amendment, the prices went sky high.
