When All Else Fails.
Went to the range today and this happened: The Op-Rod on my South Korean Garand is coming out of its track when I load a full clip and push the bolt forward to strip off the first round.
Looks like it's slightly above where it should be. The bolt goes fully into battery. Once I get the Op-Rod set in place, all eight shots go off without a hitch. When I inserted another fresh clip and pushed forward, it did it again.
Worn out receiver? Worn out Op-Rod? Would pushing slightly up or slightly down on the bolt handle, when driving the bolt home, make a difference?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
