As usual I started tomatoes way too early. I had to transplant into small tree pots because they are 3’ tall. Think I am going to just plant them this weekend with a pvc hoop cover. It’s a pain taking them in and out of house. I started a second set that are coming up well just in case.

Kale has provided some good greens. Lettuces have been up for couple weeks. Can’t wait to eat them.

Switching up my rain barrels to a food grade IBC.

Hope all your gardens do well.

Jet Star is my go to market variety tomato, I have success with heirloom varieties like Brandywine and Cherokee Purple. This year I’ll try some carbon/black varieties. Last year’s drought was a killer but I had some early success.

A bit cool today but have been out here this morning de-weeding the garden beds
    ebcdc901d381c289bc9dc4e03fa9ead5.jpg

This table has the elephant Garlic, an anise hyssop, common mint starting in that plastic container and an aloe I forgot to bring in from the cold
    cef03dd20cbc4dd87086dc9d277c2862.jpg

Arugula and spinach starting in the cucumber bed, on the other half I found 4 volunteer cucumbers starting
    cf71b7b5b95b3248104bc3be7aa8d757.jpg

Lots of weeds came out of here but leaving the volunteer tomato's and plan to trellis them up to the fence as a wall of tomato's. They'll be the Matt's wild cherry variety, they're delicious and grow like crazy but will also take over my soil if not removed where unwanted

This long bed is usually tomatillos and tomatos and herbs and stuff. Still out here pulling weeds but have cilantro, basil (Thai and Genovese), dill, and pineapple tomatillos all starting. Parsley is from last year and top right on the barrel is the sage that's two or more years old now

Here's the greenhouse. Behind on my starts this year still but got my hot peppers in yesterday. Ghost, scotch bonnet, aji Amarillo, jalapeno, fish. Two tins of ginger are starting and the one of tumeric hasn't yet, they were brought back in on the heating pads for this little cool swing we're going through

    Morn'in, Sir.

Can you tell us where you found those damn fine looking blue collapsible pots? They look indestructible. How many gallons?

Tired of going out every spring to find either brittle plastic pots or pots that split wide open from freezing.

Which ones are we talking about?

The garlic on the table in the pics are in blue/green fabric pots that were for potatos, they have a little velcro window on the side. Those are somewhere between 10/15 gallon.

The sage and another currently empty pot at the end of the long bed are in a 20 some gallon black fabric pots and sit on blue 55 gallon drums. I was planning on using them for rain barrels but so far they've only been used to prop up the sage and last years honeydew plants.

All fabric pots came from amzon, I like the fabric pots and have an even bigger one with a small fig tree in it. The 55 gallon drums came from a local facebook marketplace find

Dug in the compost pile for soil to get kale growing and saw the late season buck head is not rotted out yet and some waste potatoes growing. Layer of dirt, layer compost, layer dirt and layer of mulch. We shall see how they do

Mulch was not added in the pic yet

We have been "Re Arraigning" the yard the last 9 months or so.
We got back into gardening about 3 years ago and have been using the old fenced in Duck coop area, problem is that it has a large tree in the center,, Beech or maple, I forget.

Last summer I did a major overhaul of the chicken coop: moved it 10', jacked it up and poured footers and laid a stone foundation, replaced siding and painted,, all new fenced area.

I put up a new garden area on the other side of the chicken coop (fenced in), this weekend I dug op the water line that runs to the shop and added a yard bib for the new garden area.

She has most of the plants in the old duck coop area, but started some stuff in the new area.

Alot of work I tell Ya. I'll post more once it is completed

Another frost advisory tonight. Even with frost blankets, the tops of my maters burned last night (yeah, put a couple in early).

I did bring all my tropicals in fortunately......living room looks like a rain forest.

You can't beet 4 bucks a bag from Amazon. Squashes local pricing. I'll be peppering my garden with these great containers.

    7 gallon is 12" x 14" and 10 gallon is 15" x 19" more or less.

    They appear well made too.
