We shoot them with standard Muzzy 100 gr. broad heads. It will tear up the breasts somewhat. Field points won't work all that well, you get a pass thru and the goose will fly off and die. We shoot some local nuisance geese every year to thin them out.

You can hunt geese in MD with a bow, but I don't know why one would. With all the feathers and wings on a goose, if you don't hit COM dead on, the goose is in for a very inhumane kill.....

Well you cant shoot geese that are on the ground, they have to be in the air, and you cant disturb them to push them in the air sooooooo..... I'd say it's pretty suspect to hunt geese with a bow and I would not want to explain that one to DNR.

But you give it a try and let us know how that works out for ya....

handbook just says waterfowl cant be hunted with a crossbow...

I'd love to see where the "handbook" says that's legal... (ya got a page number?) As well as Migratory Birds (aka waterfowl and geese) are federally protected, thus you need a fed and state bird stamp and you are subject to both state and fed laws....
