What a great location for the USPSA nationals. Apart from the wind kicking up a lot of dust, the conditions have been great.

I've only managed to get one good video. My camera lady decided to sit in the car and do homework on day 2. Two more days of shooting left. :party29:

Those two black poppers set on the sides of the Texas Star were set to be stationary, and blocked everything but top and bottom shots.

Vegas. To hell with USPSA, how's the blackjack?? Priorities, man, priorities! ;)

I don't know. The hotel/casino where I'm at (The Orleans), has all these weird varieties of card games, with like 1 actual blackjack table. I haven't taken the time to visit the older casinos to do any real gambling.

The damn slots take up 90% of the floor. They are so useless.

Here are a couple pictures. I'm squadded right behind all the big name factory shooters, like Rob Leatham and Dave Sevigny. Here I am sitting in the back on my folding chair watching them shoot the stage, trying to pick up some things from the varied ways in which they attack it.

Heheheh, its OK. My next major match is IDPA (Blackwater).

I finished poorly today after three decent stages. I had 1 no-shoot, and 2 misses on a stage with 2 popper activated movers. For those only familiar with IDPA scoring, in USPSA misses not only fail to give you any points, but each one takes 10 points away. For reference, each A zone hit is worth 5 points. So one miss takes away 2 Alphas.

One of my misses was on a mover (the slower of the two strangely), and one got eaten up by the no-shoot. In USPSA, shots through a no-shoot don't count for anything else.

I dropped from sitting in the 40s yesterday to the 80s today (out of 150 competitors in Production). Three stages left tomorrow. Maybe I can claw back some position, but I'm nowhere near a trophy.

Honeymoon :). Is that business or pleasure?

We are staying at Mandalay Bay....a lake in the middle of a desert, but whatever. Wondering where the shoot is?

The match is at the Desert Sportsmen Rifle and Pistol Club.

It is just west of the city, like 10 minutes drive from the strip.

Head west on Tropicana Ave to 215 North, get off on Charleston West, and go like 1.5-2 miles. The club is on the left. Spectators are welcome, and the match will continue through the week.
