I just bought 163 rounds of 30.06 ammo. The headstamps read KA 73. I understand that this is from the Pusan Government Arsenal, Republic of Korea, manufactured in 1973. What I don't know, is this safe to shoot in my Garand? I know that someone here will have the answer to my question. Thanks for your help.

Hmm. as pointed out in some various mosin threads, Windex has Amonia-D which contains no amonia. Amonia is like $2 a gallon at walmart and you can mix your own with water.

Sell it and buy some CMP HXP ammo! Non corrorsive and one of the best deals for M1 Garand food you will find.

Yep, that is what I am going to do. I just got too good of a price on this ammo to pass up. It cost me about half as much as HXP, but I will not shoot corrosive ammo in my Garand.

I've shot a ton of the stuff, good ammo, I clean my Garands after use so it's no big deal. The original GI ammo was corrosive.
