Same here, but that is a sweet looking pistol. Bet it comes with a heavy price tag.

But WTF is this "Fancy French Walnut" grips?

Is French Walnut more scratch resistant when dropped?

They should have used American Oak, maybe from the Oak sourced or salvaged during the USS Constitution restoration work with the Navy Insignia or SEAL Trident ILO Ruger crest. Now that would be a Navy pistol.

Maybe could have gotten away with Bastogne walnut but Fancy French Walnut just makes me want to heave.

Oak for pistol grips would be bad, too open grained. Walnut has much tighter grain and is a little more stable.

    Agree to Disagree then.....

Google Fu Oak Grips and I'll think you'll see that you are wrong.

Besides, you think these 1/500 are going to be shooters or collectables maybe sitting a nice display or presentation case?

Have you asked your dealer to contact Ruger, who in turn can tell him which distributors they are going to? Then the dealer can contact those distributors.
