    Hey:

So I recently bought a luger (pictures to come later) and It came with a holster. Dont believe that it is the original holster for the gun, but it looks like it has 3 different unit markers on it. I was wondering if anyone had a good guess as to what they are? The faded one is located on the top flap, the other two are located just under the flap.

    Thanks for the help!

im not very well versed in german unit markings, but if i remember correctly i think the 1st number is battalion, then the initials are for the type of battalion, then the regiment and weapon number.in this case i think RR may stand for reichs reiter, which is cavalry.

so i think 4/RR.17.40 stands for 4th reichs reiter battalion, 17th regiment weapon #40.

as for the other markings i dunno.
