I have no idea why so many parents vote against their own interests here. The concept of "the more you make schools into social indoctrination centers, the less they'll educate", is not really that hard to understand. They're working hard to make a mediocre school system so expensive that the folks who pay the txes to support it can't afford the private schools that would serve their kids far better.

Interestingly enough, I have run into several local parents recently who have been considering pulling their kids out of public school and into private school. They just aren't happy with the direction things are going, and the increasing hostility towards Jews (both overt and subtle CRT-derived) is making them nervous about what's going on in school.
MCPS tardy in submitting homework regarding chronic student absenteeism.
The dog ate it!
Nearly 25% of MCPS students considered chronically absent
Nearly a quarter of all MCPS students are considered “chronically absent,” according to data recently shared with MoCo360.moco360.media
The new plan will “tighten up” school policy to ensure chronically absent students receive appropriate discipline, according to MCPS spokesperson Jessica Baxter. Current policy states in the event of an unexcused absence, the school counselor will meet with the student and their caregivers, verify the reason for the absence and “determine appropriate interventions.”
“Kids are smart. They’ll work the system. If they know they can skip class and still pass, and there’s no disincentive—I mean, it’s going to happen,” Porrovicchio said.
Did someone say Tighten Up?
We didn't have lights.Simple solution is to eliminate Friday night games and have them Saturday morning at 9AM. Friday nights can then be repurposed to midnight basketball. Future prison residents will sleep right through the game.
We did not have lights either. One or two high schools did but yeah, Saturday morning was the norm.We didn't have lights.
Kick-off was at 11am.
