Remember the whole '90% of guns in Mexico come from the US' nonsense?

Well, a friend and I want to look at the raw data - does anyone know where it is? I mean, it should be accessible to the public, right?

....can't disclose exact source, but a certain individual that works for DOJ shoots with me and his three letter "bureau" was refused access to the "raw" data. I don't think any of us are gonna FOIA this one. They will just use the security/foreign policy line.

another thing to think about is that the statement that I read said that the numbers are based on "guns traced". Well, if you think about it, they can only trace guns for which there is a paper trail. If you take it one step further, that means that most guns with any paper trail will originate here in the US and have probably been sold LEGALLY at LEAST once.

There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics.

Anyone know what specifically you would FOIA? Can your average joe do a FOIA request and not get pulled over 18 times for going 1 over in retaliation?
