Well, no. The agency doesn't make the ultimate charging decisions, the State's Attorney does and he/she can decide to charge you with both. You don't have to be first convicted at the county level. The State's attorney is the county level. The analogy to the Feds is inapt. The State and the Federal governments are two different sovereigns. The County is not a sovereign
    .
    Thanks for clearing that up.

The county has said they won't enforce it, but if they had no intention of enforcing it why go through the effort to pass it?
no disrespect here. where or when was this said? I've been following this closely (or so I thought). tia.

    This is a disgrace.

Please Go and voice your opinion on the bricks with The Patriot Picket. I've been there....

And Yes, I agree a judge not acting on a enumerated civil right is disgraceful.

    @esqappellate

This is just my opinion on the matter here...

Maryland Shall Issue, Inc. v. Montgomery County, Maryland

    Document #75

    District Court, D. Maryland

    Docket Number: 8:21-cv-01736

    Date Filed: March 31st, 2023

    Uploaded: March 31st, 2023

The court thus found that these restrictions were not “relevantly similar” to Minnesota’s ban under Bruen’s “how and why” metrics. Id. at 30, citing Bruen, 142 S.Ct. at 2132-33. The same analysis applies, "a fortiori", to the County’s ban on possession and carry by all persons at places of higher education.

Meaning==A fortiori signals an argument that it is based on an even stronger argument. In Latin, the term literally means ‘from [the] stronger’.

Finally, in their prior response to the County’s notice of supplemental authorities, filed March 28, 2023, plaintiffs noted that the Eleventh Circuit had "sua sponte " entered an order withholding the mandate in Bondi. Subsequently, on March 30, 2023, the plaintiffs in Bondi filed a petition for rehearing en banc. NRA v. Bondi, No. 21-12314 Docket #68..

    1. Sua sponte= refers to a decision made, or action taken, by a judge of his own accord, with no motion or request having been made by any party to.
So, I agree there is plenty for the judge to act NOW on, without much hesitation. ACTIION is the word.

Pretty much to me is Mark is handing him the instructions to make a
    decision, Yes in our favor.

BUT, I'd bet opposition will file with next higher authority for hearing. OR a Stay.

Judge was having a relaxing Easter Weekend. Our enumerated Constitutional rights could wait on that.
Maybe our rights will pull a Lazarus, or better yet, a Jesus. But it's been a wee bit more than three days.

So from all our armchair lawyering, it would seem that the judge should grant the TRO. As the decision is delayed, what happens if SB1 passes? Does the judge overlook All the legalese and deny the TRO? Or what if the judge actually grants the TRO? Wouldn’t that automatically give standing to impose a TRO against SB1? Just wondering. IANAL and have no idea what I’m talking about.

Now will the judge deny the moco ruling because this shyte passed the mga?

My guess is yes and this is what he was waiting for, or told to wait for.

I hope I am wrong but it smells fishy to me
