I just wanted to give a quick introduction...My name is EJ and I am interested in learning more about guns and shooting. I live in Baltimore, am 31 years old and is a junior in college. I've shot a couple of guns while growing up, but nothing other than firing a few rounds with my dad. It seems like an active forum here, so hopefully I will meet some great people and start to learn how to properly and safely operate firearms....Thanks!!

Howdy EJ. Lots of good info here. If you are not that familiar with firearms I would suggest an NRA course to start you off on the basics. You can check the NRA website for local classes but there always appears to be some close for pretty reasonable.

Lots of professional trainers who are members here also.

The hunter safety course is a very good and economical program for learning about safe gunhandling and the instructors can usually answer any non hunting questions you may have as well. Another benefit is a state issued credential that will cover most training requirements for purchasing regulated firearms and even for out of state CCW permits that require live fire.
