o/u doctor

Hello,

I have an Ithaca o/u ( skb 500) that is getting a little loose. I have previously sent a my miroku to a guy in minnesta named Doug who was pretty good.

Anyone local who can tighten up an o/u?

It wouldn't surprise me. Good smiths who work on shotguns are a different breed. Unique tools and skills needed when it comes to fitting stocks or regulating barrels on expensive shotguns. It's hard to be good at all platforms and not always a good path to take.

Sorry, I don't have a local recommendation for you.
How many rounds have you put through it?
Any chance that the blocks are designed to be user adjustable or replaceable?
Otherwise, I think you have to add a layer to the block via welding and machine it down to fit. May be cost prohibitive unless it is special to you.

I had a miroku that was pretty loose in all directions. I found an o/u specialist in minessota. He got it together for 300 dollars.

I was hoping for someone local, but will consider sending my gun to him again. My o/u is just beginning to be loose, and I'd like to nip it in the bud now.

I'd try Albrights in Easton. Lots of high end shot guns and a very good smith.

I talked to atlantic's smith and o/us are one of the few things he doesn't work on (for action work)

I also prefer to not ship things when I can help it.
