After my oil change this morning I went for a drive on backroads to get lost and see what I could see. Well I saw a rinky dink old pawnshop and popped in to see if they had any treasures. They did...a National Postal Meter M1 carbine with round bolt and 7-43 Underwood barrel for $400. Pics as soon as the camera battery charges.

PS- this was also my first NICS free purchase since they are not required if you have an Alabama concealed pistol permit.

Very nice. Receiver made between Jan and Sep of 1943. Early Underwood Company stock.

Look between with the bayonet mount and the front sight and see if you can see a very small import stamp. May be a South Korean import.

    If no import mark, mobetta.

Holler if you need help getting that horseshoe out of your arse...

I thought that minor irritation was teratos' finger.

Is mobetta good, the only barrel markings are Underwood 7-43 and the flaming ordnance bomb.

Pure luck find. I don't even know where I was, just saw a little sign that said "Pawn Shop" with an arrow pointing down a narrow road. Pretty sure I heard banjos from the woods near the place.

Horseshoe nails and Teratos' hangnails may have the same deleterious effect on your favorite sphincter...
