The only thing I don't like, and I haven't had an issue yet, is that you have to stick your finger in the trigger guard to work the BAD.

I might give this a shot. I'd like to see how easy it is for me to reach though.

I tried hard to get a Lancer lower before the ban. No dice.

They have an ambi bolt release built in as well.

If it were me and my ambi bolt catch weren't built in I wouldn't take the risk of ruining my lower. Bad lever, tactical link, phase 5 etc all have the wrap around style and they work well without having to stretch your finger way up there to operate.

my only concern is getting it again if for whatever reason it breakes. At least a regular one would work but leave a notch int he receiver. I do like how seekins is constructed since it is a separate piece that works with a standard bolt release.

Absolute worst case, you swap in a standard release and have an extra slot in your lower. In reality, it wouldn't be too difficult to just weld a few bits together and recreate it from a standard release.

Installing it with a Dremel tool and butchering a irreplaceable MD legal pre sb281 receiver gives me chills

I would rather lay the gun down, walk around the table, pick it up from the other side and activate the bold release with my eyeball before I would risk it.
    just sayin'
