Put MORE light on your rifle's front sight, not less. ;)

Don't you think it would work better if you went from the bottom?

I dont know. I'm thinking put the sight in a drill press vice and go right down through the conveniently supplied adjustment hole. Drill to depth and epoxy the fiber rod in place. Or heat the rod a press fit it like we do the pistol front sights. Not sure. The guy that makes them is on this board Joshua M. Smith.

It was kind of funny, but I wasn't taking a shot. I didn't know if you had seen the adjustment hole on top. I owned a mosin once for like 3 minutes (no kidding) and never really looked at it. It is actually a pretty funny story. A member on this board has it now.

It was more like 5 minutes:innocent0
