Removing AK74 fake suppressor

I was just going to pm this question to chad, but I figure others can benefit from the answer.

What is involved with removing the fake suppressor off of the AK74u clones, such as this one sold at AtlanticFirearms?

All the ones I have worked on were blind pinned and welded. I had to desrroy the fake can to find the blind weld.

Chad - are these worth it or do they need a slight Chadding to see if they're up to par?

Anyone know if they're legal to own in MD?

These should work if done by a reputable builder. I wouldnt buy one unless atlantic stood behind it. Atlantic has sold some shoddy AK's in the past (kranovich arms and lancaster). If I were to do a 5.45x39, this would be the easiest if the gas system is setup for sbr use already.
