    Very nice!

I assume the grips are some sort of composite? The Look is in keeping with the black finish.

Despite your earlier impression that Colt wasn't ready to jump back into the blued finish, it seems that they're willing to go where the money is. Maybe it has something to do with their new owners? CZ seems willing to play the variation game, and that means more money from the collector contingent. Anyone into Colt collection needs deep pockets, or an understanding wife. Or both.

The stocks are laminate like most new Pythons are shipped with.

The blue finish came out of nowhere…Colt seems to doing stealth introductions with no big announcements or fanfare. I think that’s keeping scalper sellers at bay…the last two Pythons I bought were each below MSRP which is always welcome.

When I heard Colt dropped the DLC finish for the stainless Pythons I admit to being a bit bummed out…then suddenly Colt drops a blued carbon steel gun…suddenly all is right in Coltland.

I wonder what new surprises Colt has in stock.

Does a picture of a picture of a revolver count ? I drew this in the mod 1980’s.

Revolver is a 5.5” stainless Redhawk I bought circa 1082-83. Holster was made by my uncle. Grips are massaged Pachmyers. A hint of machine turning effect on the trigger. You can see I used an incomplete/fade out effect.

Belt is a police duty belt (used for action pistol), chair is a family antique refinshed by my father and I. Pistol was unloaded.

A good bit of water under the bridge with this revolver. It is one of, if not the very favorite, of all my handguns.

I'm not much for engraved and embellished guns...but that one gets some oohs and aahs!

Right?? This fella sure has some BBQ rigs, that’s no question. I’m glad that particular 45 is the proper barrel length too. I’ve always been a fan of blued six guns. Little bit of color case? ..

This one is a looker though, no doubt!

4 3/4" is considered "gunfighter" length...at least if you grew up on watching westerns.
I have the entire Have Gun Will Travel and Paladin seems proficient with a 7.5". Movies show all 3 barrel lengths.
Additionally the US Army originally issued 7.5.

Agree 4.75 is considered gunfighter length, but propper? Propper as far as what?

I know Paladin carried a 7.5" "Hamilton" as he called it in the first episode...with a 1 pound trigger pull he said. If you watch him in action...he has to really pull his arm up and back to unholster...there's some wasted motion and time there. Cavalry length was 7.5" as well. Matt Dillon carried a 7.5" Colt as well if I remember...but James Arness was 6'6" or 6'7" and could pull it off plus it probably looked more proportional on him. Most movies and tv shows will show gunslingers carried shorter barrels...probably much easier for the trick shot artists and actors to unholster. I can't say for sure but I've been told the 5.5" was very popular during the days of the real west...it isn't until Hollywood came along that the 4.75" barrel was sold in large numbers.

Many SAA fans like the 5.5" barrel the best.

My first was a 7.5 that is a joy to shoot.
My second was 5.5 at auction, one of a pair from CAS Dapper Dan' estate. Action is slicker than snake shit to shoot. Maybe 1 lb trigger.
My third was 4.75 brand new from Colt; unfired so far.

I like em all, just like big mammeried hot redheads!

Proper just as far as my tastes go. My 5.5” ‘57 Single Six balances and shoots great. Love the feel and look of the 4 5/8” personally that’s all
