Very cool. I have a Centennial in my locker. Later became the 40. Love it for its action when compared to modern j frame but also for the history my particular example has.Couldn’t pass this up awhile back. 40-1

Very nice!
I assume the grips are some sort of composite? The Look is in keeping with the black finish.
Despite your earlier impression that Colt wasn't ready to jump back into the blued finish, it seems that they're willing to go where the money is. Maybe it has something to do with their new owners? CZ seems willing to play the variation game, and that means more money from the collector contingent. Anyone into Colt collection needs deep pockets, or an understanding wife. Or both.
I don't know what you think, but that's what you wrote.I have that one as well., did you think I meant the 547 requires moon clips?
Not my pistol but I did get to shoot it..with a camera. The ivory on this one!

I'm not much for engraved and embellished guns...but that one gets some oohs and aahs!
Proper length? Why so?Right?? This fella sure has some BBQ rigs, that’s no question. I’m glad that particular 45 is the proper barrel length too. I’ve always been a fan of blued six guns. Little bit of color case? ..
This one is a looker though, no doubt!

I have the entire Have Gun Will Travel and Paladin seems proficient with a 7.5". Movies show all 3 barrel lengths.4 3/4" is considered "gunfighter" length...at least if you grew up on watching westerns.
Engraved Colt SAA is on my bucket list. Maybe two.I'm not much for engraved and embellished guns...but that one gets some oohs and aahs!

Additionally the US Army originally issued 7.5.
Agree 4.75 is considered gunfighter length, but propper? Propper as far as what?
My first was a 7.5 that is a joy to shoot.I know Paladin carried a 7.5" "Hamilton" as he called it in the first episode...with a 1 pound trigger pull he said. If you watch him in action...he has to really pull his arm up and back to unholster...there's some wasted motion and time there. Cavalry length was 7.5" as well. Matt Dillon carried a 7.5" Colt as well if I remember...but James Arness was 6'6" or 6'7" and could pull it off plus it probably looked more proportional on him. Most movies and tv shows will show gunslingers carried shorter barrels...probably much easier for the trick shot artists and actors to unholster. I can't say for sure but I've been told the 5.5" was very popular during the days of the real west...it isn't until Hollywood came along that the 4.75" barrel was sold in large numbers.
Many SAA fans like the 5.5" barrel the best.
I like em all, just like big mammeried hot redheads!

You had me curious. Just checked and my Colt Single Action Army is 4 3/4". Now to practice being a gunslinger.4 3/4" is considered "gunfighter" length...at least if you grew up on watching westerns.
Fair enough.Proper just as far as my tastes go. My 5.5” ‘57 Single Six balances and shoots great. Love the feel and look of the 4 5/8” personally that’s all

Fair enough.
For me the Colt SAA 7.5 is the preferred.
