Regan wasn't perfect but compared to the current POS POTUS he was a giant.

It seems MDS is collecting quite a cadre of naysayers to cloud the waters and preach doom and gloom. I consider that a measure of our success because the opposition feels the need to expend resources to try and blunt the effort.

Few presidents have tried to resist gun control............really its been very few. One tragedy and its politically expedient to blame inanimate objects like guns.

That's why the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government need watched VERY carefully.

Reagan's heart was in the right place, but by then it was too late. He made a big deal about downsizing government, but it was all farmed out to the Beltway Bandits, so it wouldn't appear on the books.

It got too big to handle after WWII; even scared Eisenhower, who saw what was going down, but couldn't stop it. He was the guy who came up with the phrase "Military-Industrial Complex", and warned us about it. But by then the Cold War was in full swing, and people on both sides were cranking up the tension to feather their nests with the profits of massive defense spending.

Wonder why the OP hasn't joined in the discussion since his OP.

I'm gonna agree with Chad on this one. Seems like nothing more than bomb throwing iMO.

Why isn't this in the WC anyway?

There doesn't seem to be any legitimate purpose here other than poking the bee hive with a stick.

    My .02 anyway.

I think this thread is a glaring example of the idiocy of liberals. Nothing is going your way? Blame Bush!!!! That isn't working??? REAGAN!!!! HE'S THEIR GOD!!! WE'LL TRASH REAGAN!!!! So yes; Reagan was not perfect. He had flaws just like the rest of us. But where liberty is concerned, he was a champion compared to EVERYTHING we've had in the WH since his time.

    Eat dick liberals. :sad20:

Every man is flawed. I prefer the flawed Reagan to the idiot & full blown socialist who occupies the Whitehouse. You probably voted for O.
Flaws and all, he was better than many/most before him and all since. We will never have a President that we totally agree with or makes us all happy, but I would choose Ronald Reagan over any other in my lifetime. He was the last real leader of this country....who will be the next one? Not much confidence it will be a democrat since, in my lifetime they have given us Johnson, Carter, Clinton, and the worst President in history, Obama(maybe tied with Carter).

For the liberals on this board trashing Reagan, I don't think it's about having a a favorite. They're just trying to divert attention from the incredibly poor performance of their champion who currently resides in the Oval Office. Kind of a..."yeah I know my guy sucks but LOOK! SHINY OBJECT! YOUR GUY WASN'T PERFECT!!!"

    I certainly agree with that.

maybe they were too young to remember the cold war and being taught to hide under your desk when the siren blew and looking at the posters so you could identify the Russian bombers that may fly over to drop the bomb if you where still alive and all the bomb shelters and radiation shelters signs and that feeling that any day would be your last and how good it felt when Reagan won that war. or maybe I am just old.

it seemed to me he was mostly hiding in the white house pooping his pants and helping sell his brothers beer and his peanuts. at the end of his presidency I purchased a house and a car. the interest on the house , if I remember correctly, was 14.9% and the car was 27%. oh the joys of inflation.

Holy sh@t!!! I was only a few years old when he was POTUS but have always heard the stories. I can't imagine interest rates that high.
My old man has always said of Carter..."That jackass almost ruined us."

I think at one time in his presidency inflation and interest rates were both at 18% and the unemployment number was in double digits at least for a while. i just remember work was hard to come by and money was even harder to come by down here.
